Kawasaki KH500A8 1976 CANADA information
Introduced in 1975 to replace the Mach 3 model, the KH500 was rather an emasculated version of the early H1. With power down from 60bhp to just 52bhp, it was no longer the sub 13 second quarter miler that made this machine such a legend in 1969!
It was however, a pleasant well handling machine, the H1 was legendary for it’s truly awful handling, blessed with abundant torque and a smooth 120 degree three cylinder engine. It was even relatively economical, able to achieve close on 40mpg, nearly twice that of it’s fire breathing original!
All Kawasaki triples are very desirable as classics, but these later models do not command the same high values, but if riding your classic is as important as how it looks, then these later models, with superior ignition and cooler running engines are the best one’s to go for.
