Kawasaki KE125 information

Kawasaki KE125

Like most two stroke’s from the 1970’s the fastest (best?) version of the KE125 disc valve two stroke single was the first, putting out 13bhp @ 7500rpm, with only a 97kg claimed curb weight! This made Kawasaki’s super little trail machines one of the fastest 125’s of its day, on the trail or the tarmac!

By 1983 it had grown an extra gear, now six speed, but lost three of it’s horses, now down to 10bhp, and gained 13kg, casting doubt on it’s earlier weight claim’s!

So if you fancy one of these classic “Kwacker trailies”, try and obtain an early 1970’s model! Beware though gearboxes were fragile, and re-bores, due to special finish can be costly!
