Honda ST90 information
Released mainly for the North American market in 1973, the ST90 ‘Trail Sport’ took the DAX system into a slightly different direction, with larger diameter wire spoke wheels and a cradle down tube running form the head-stock under the engine reconnecting to the frame by the swing-arm pivot.
The overall impression is of a ‘properly’ proportioned small motorcycle, with the exception of retaining the automatic clutch three speed transmission, to aid the Junior novice rider.
With exposed chrome plated springs utilised on the rear shocks, proper telescopic hydraulic damped forks and high position mudguards, how many American 12-14 year olds would not have like to have this in their Christmas stocking in the 1970’s. Those same 12-14 year olds, now middle aged, would probably like a mint example all over again!
