Honda P50 information

Honda P50

Almost the Holy Grail for collectors of Honda mopeds! Running for just over two year’s 1966 to 1968, the ‘Little Honda’ was unique at that time having a delightful little overhead valve four stroke motor, when all other manufacturers were using two strokes.

The design of the engine being part of the wheel however, was copied directly from the ‘Winged Wheel’ produced by BSA in the U.K some 20 years earlier and was the last ‘Motor in wheel’ design to be marketed anywhere in the World.

The 49cc engine gave out 1.2hp @ 4200rpm, and the machine weighed 45kg. Due to the rarity collector interest remains high, and good examples of the ‘Little Honda’ change hands for staggering sums, especially considering the rock bottom purchase price of the original model back in the 1960’s, a good racing push bike could cost more then!
