Carlos Checa the Moto GP rider owned one of these as his first road bike, and as most of these fast little liquid cooled two strokes were made in Spain, why not!
These were the machine of choice for Spanish youngsters, Spain’s licensing laws favouring this capacity, and was instrumental in Honda setting up the production line for these near Barcelona.

It’s as well they did, because access to relatively high performance machinery like these has allowed Spanish riders to partially dominate race grids both in WSB and Moto- GP. 

The ‘Repsol’ models are still in great demand in the second hand market, where few remain due to conversion to full our race bikes.
