Honda CR500 information
Replacement for the CR480, Honda moto-cross machines really came of age with this model, now offering a serious alternative to the dominant machinery from Maico and Yamaha in 1984 when announced. The model was to evolve into a machine with true winning potential over the years culminating in the final model to carry the CR500 name, the CR500R1 launched 2001. This was the last of the super fast two stroke moto-cross machines from Honda, the circle being well and truly squared with a range of four-stroke machinery bought about by concerns over the high emissions that are the nature of two strokes.
