Honda CL100 information
Following the usual patter of building CL versions of their roadsters, mainly for the seeming insatiable enthusiasm from North American enthusiasts, The CL100 was launched in 1971, and ran through to 1973. Based on the competent CB100s, the 11.5bhp @9000 rpm single overhead camshaft five speed engine was enough to propel the machine to close on 70mph.
Braced handlebar, and a high-mount exhaust added their usual aesthetic mix to the models appearance, and three colours were available: Candy Sapphire Blue, Candy Topaz Orange, and Poppy Yellow Metallic.
As most trail machinery like these were pretty much ridden to death, especially the 5hp restricted models ridden almost exclusively by youngsters, few fine examples remain today, and those that do command surprisingly high values in the classic market place.
