Known as the Elite or in the USA as the Spacy, this liquid cooled four-stroke had many clever design features like a foot brake that doubled as a parking brake, electric start, and fully automatic gears. The punchy engine gave enough performance on open roads to keep up with regular traffic as well as in the city, its natural environment.

The model was user friendly and relatively light at around 100kg bringing people to two-wheeled transport that may not have otherwise considered such a ‘radical’ step! No doubt the name ‘Honda’ also gave an image of reliability and ease of ownership.
