Honda CBR1000RR information
The sports-touring Honda CBR1000F when launched was always in the shadow of more exciting motorcycles, yet had a decade long production run. It had its good points, such as a comfortable riding position, good build quality – except for early cam-chain tensioner problems - and respectable handling.
Compared to its contemporary rivals like the Kawasaki ZZ-R1100, or Suzuki GSX-R1100, the Honda CBR1000F lacks real kick-in-the-pants power. It is a deceptively fast motorcycle, but felt a little flat, never really getting the pulse race going.
A competent and well built motorcycle, and apart from the earlier aforementioned cam chain problems was a comfortable and reliable sports tourer.
In later years of course the CBR1000 sports touring model has long since stopped production, name has changed to CBR1000RR Fire Blade, with Moto GP technologies embraced, and arguably holds the title of the Worlds greatest super bike! And of course is an evolution of the original CBR900RR.
