The Nighthawk, a custom bike based on the advanced CBX550 four cylinder engine, was destined for the USA market when launched in 1983. With hydraulic valve operation and shaft drive , maintenance was kept down to a minimum, and the bike with 64bhp @ 9500 rpm was quick by any standards of the day, with a standing quarter of 13 seconds or less! So high performance, low maintenance, custom looks with sports performance, no wonder it sold well!
