granddadx2's profile

Architechture & design is my profession, but I am also a
skilled furniture craftsman and educated machine operator.
3 years ago, I sold my Honda CB500 Four K2 from 1973,
And bought a Honda Shadow VT800C from 1988 instead,
because I drew my pension and needed a more comfortable
riding with the coming of age. I also wanted to get rid of the chain,
and get electronic ignition as well as automatic hydraulic. Last year, when I discovered that my Shadow began to use 1L oil / 1000km, ( It had now gone 80.000 km ) I removed the motor from the frame during winter and ordered new top gaskets and rings for both stamps to restore the motor.
Sadly, it came out that you had only one set of rings left, allthough your homesite told otherwise !!!!! And my mechanic allready had disassembled the motor !!!!! So I had to by some very expensive liquid gasket for topsealing the frontcylinder to get my Shadow restored. Therefore I decided to sell the Shadow, after having bought a fine Yamaha Virago XV 535 from year 2000, that had only run 25.000 km and looked brand new.
So now I’m happily on the road again……!
