Honda CL250 information
First launched in Japan in 1968 the original CL250KO model was slightly de-tuned for more torque from 30bhp to 27bhp. The trade mark Hi-level exhaust pipes, braced handlebars and with no electric start, this model followed the trend so successfully pioneered by the CL72 and CL77 models.
As with all the CL variants, this model looked more intriguing to most enthusiasts both then and more especially now, CL variants always being more valuable than their CB equivalent.
This CL250 never sold in anything like the numbers the CL350 managed, in North America, who would bother with a 250 when for only a little more would by a 350?
The ‘Street scrambler’ was not popular in Europe, so the 250cc licensing watershed made little impact with this model, which was completely outsold by it’s CB cousins
