Where possible when renewing the cam-chain , replace the timing and cam sprockets at the same time to avoid damaging new parts when interfacing with old worn items. Check the condition of the cam lobes for pitting or excessive wear - if showing these symptoms replace them?
Also check the cam-chain tensioners and guides are in good shape - tensioner failure can result in mashed valves and piston crown - ouch!
