Probably the rarest Monkey, introduced in 1987 and made for only two model years, mainly due to the high cost of manufacturing. It was also marketed as the Monkey R and Monkey RT with some differences. The RT for example having a four-speed transmission with a manual clutch, the other models having three speeds with automatic clutch.
The ZB50 was offered as a trail alternative to the Z50R. Engine is very similar to the Z50 type, but has the added bonus of a roller bearing supported camshaft.
Electrical system is 12-V and ignition is an electronic CDI. It’s main feature id the aluminium spar frame giving a ‘Sports Bike’ appearance, and also responsible for those high manufacturing costs that ended production prematurely in 1988!
