Yamaha YZ60 information
An upgrade on the YZ50, the YZ60 built from 1981 to 1983 in this ‘H’ ‘J’ and ‘K’ format had a re-designed chassis, utilising technology from Yamaha’s larger competition machinery. The power level was higher, but still maintaining a smooth torque curve, allowing the young novice rider to build up confidence, before apply full gas!
Yamaha cleverly keep their machines to an almost standard format, so when younger riders progress up to larger capacity competition, the controls and general feel of the bikes are similar to the lower powered model they may have competed on during the previous season, this engenders confidence, and of course brand loyalty!
