Yamaha XV750C VIRAGO 1989 (K) CALIFORNIA information
The Yamaha Virago 750 was the first V-twin engine produced by a Japanese company. Manufactured from 1981 to 1996, it was part of Yamaha's Virago line of cruisers. The maximum speed of the Virago 750 was approximately 180 km/h. It was Yamaha's first foray into the V-twin cruiser market.
It’s 55bhp engine meant it was easily able to compete with the Harley 750 cruiser, and so effectively, Harley Davidson through vigorous lobbying managed to have a punitive import duty slammed on foreign motorcycles of 750cc or more! This was countered by Yamaha bringing out a 699cc version known as the XV700 Virago! Game set and match!
