Yamaha XV700 information
The 699cc version of the 750cc was to avoid a hefty import tariff, bought about by Harley Davidson lobbying their senator for punitive duties levied on motorcycles of 750cc or above. So the Virago ‘700’ continued to sell well on it’s intended market, at the expense of the aforementioned company!
