Yamaha TR2 information
This was the machine that really changed the face of road racing, both at club-mans and Grand Prix level racing in 1969. It’s 61mm bore and 59.6mm stroke, piston port engine gave a very impressive 54bhp @ 9500rpm. This was enough to give a top speed in excess of 145mph. Not enough to beat the all dominant MV3 of Agostini, but good enough to fill the next nine places of the 350cc World championship of that year!
Many racers over-bored their engines to 354cc allowing them to compete in the 500cc senior class, and pretty much dominating, apart from the 500cc MV3, once again piloted by the stylish Giacomo Agostini!
