Yamaha SR500 information
First released in 1978, the 500cc single cylinder engine was based on the XT500 Trail bike. It proved popular both in Europe and the USA, the 500cc single was pleasant to ride, and held that nostalgic aura that 500cc singles encourage. It is still manufactured today for the Japanese home market, albeit in 400cc versions to compliment there licensing system.
