Yamaha RZ350 information
The RZ 350 and the more commonly known RD350LC, and also know affectionately as the ‘Elsie’ when launched in 1980 using technology from the TZ and Grand Prix machinery was an overnight success, with 47 BHP, 143 Kg and 110mph performance, a cult was created overnight, and as so often happens with so many of the rapid Yamaha road bikes, many of these superb handling high performance two strokes ended up on the track, beating many purpose built race bikes!
The RZ and YPVS models that followed just got faster and lighter, but it is the “Elsie” that holds so much affection for those lucky enough to have ridden and owned this, one of Yamaha’s most impressive machines from the two stroke era.
All of these iconic LC/RZ/YPVS series two strokes are appreciating rapidly in the classic scene, as people rediscover the thrill of riding a machine so closely based on the race bikes of that period.
