Yamaha IT465 information
Introduced in 1982, the IT465 filled in the market niche left by the less successful IT425.
Much more powerful engine with the more (slightly) modern braced alloy swing arm, although still retaining the old fashioned mono cross shock, never the less still enjoying nearly 270mm of travel, but with out the sophistication of the later upright mono shock system.
It’s performance however, compared to the discontinued IT 425 was a giant improvement, the engine “nearly pulling your arms out of their sockets” according to a contemporary test at that time!
