A predecessor to the "Side stand" light.

The actual function of this rubber is to prevent accidents should you drive off with the side stand down: On your first left turn, the rubber will contact the road first, and swing the side stand into a safer position.
Theoretical, this means it wears, and Honda was even kind enough to POINT out a wear indicator on the other side of this rubber.

Just to say it was in great condition, as new, and it works on a old Suzuki GSX 1100 , 1981 model, if you place it the kick stand, to help retracting it, because on the Suzuki if you put on the first gear, you can accidently depart and fall, if you forget to retract it, the only thing that happens is a side stand ligh on the Suzuki GSX panel.
