Suzuki T125II 1971 (R) USA (E03) information
The original Suzuki 15hp @ 8500rpm T125 was launched in Japan in 1967, and bears no resemblance to the 1969 T125 stinger. It was only sold in Japan, and was a parallel twin two-stroke, and was typically styled with similarities to the other T models at that time.
The T125 Stinger was introduced in 1969, and was styled like real road-race machine, and looked superb. Its Hi-Line exhaust system looked straight off a Grand Prix machine, and was enhanced by its slim-line fuel tank and racing style seat.
Looks were deceptive however, the two stroke laid down parallel twin engine giving a healthy 15hp @ 8500 rpm was not the problem, the light weight of just 96kg ensured strong performance, it was poor handling caused by soft suspension and weak damping.
The good looks and crisp engine though delivered good sales, both abroad and in Japan where it was called T125 Wolf. The Japanese home model had a different fuel tank, although the rare 90cc version actually had the same fuel tank as the export Stinger!
