Suzuki RG80 information
The RG80 was a pared down RG125, mainly for the German market, where 125’s did not sell well. It was launched in 1984, and shared many common components with the RG125, and looked and felt very racy!
The performance however was distinctly average, with the water-cooled engine borrowed from the TS80, gave just under 10hp, enough to give this 109kg machine a top speed of just 85km/h. Compare this to the RG125’s 25hp!
Handling and breaking though was top notch, with incredible angles of lean.
The RG80 sold well in its German market. And was worth Suzuki’s while in offering this alternative to the RG125.
