wiked replacement electronic ignition

reviewer: Mudge

(5 Stars) - Tuesday, December 08, 2009
Thi replacement electronic ignition is a direct replacement for the points on my totaly original honda cb550 four K (1978).
its so simple to fit and does exactly what it says on the packet with NO EXCEPTIONS.
but you do need to use a heat resistant glue to hold the pick ups in place or they will come lose, but exceedingly good value for money and as it comes with the correct electrical fittings you dont have the need to cut any wires and its quite simply plug and play.
when i have finished restoring my yam xs750 (with points system) i will be looking to fit this system to her.

Dear Honda's enthusiasts,
I opened the box and there were no instructions! But suddenly I realized how symple is the fitting. Just screw off the old plate and screw in the new one, connect it to the wires and:

Job done, pefectly!

Now the bike is running so smoothly i never felt like this..

AMAZING

Thank you, this kit worth the money it costs!

Ciao

Damiano

Super ELECTRONIC IGNITION Honda CB 750 four

reviewer: Michael Young

(5 Stars) - Sunday, February 17, 2008
With this ELECTRONIC IGNITION your bike will run great,no more problems with the timing. You hear lots of different storys about ELECTRONIC IGNITIONS and alot of them are true, but not with this one, I had lots of trouble with the points on my bike so I had to try somthing, It was the best thing I ever did to my bike, it now runs perfect. Simply remove the poins plate & point cam and install the magnet and new plate with all the system on it. There is even an LED to make sure the timing is spot-on. Put the engine at the 'F' mark for cylinder 1 & turn the plate until the LED comes on - Tighten the screws and your timming problems are gone forever

Electronic Ignition for Honda CB550 K0

reviewer: Stephen Pollock

(5 Stars) - Tuesday, February 05, 2008
A very good product and no problems have come to light yet. It is very easy to install and there are no wires to cut, it just plugs into your existing wiring loom next to the battery. The manual can be downloaded from the Electronic Ignition Forum on this site or get it from http://www.cmsnl.com/downloads/Ignition_En_rev_b.pdf. No manual came with my ignition kit. The setup instructions have to be followed exactly in order to get the timing right, which can take a little while but once set they won't need to be set again.

GREAT PRODUCT

reviewer: Lars Cassias

(5 Stars) - Tuesday, February 05, 2008
This product is great, i have on one CB550K3 motorcycles, and ready to install on the second. It is easy to install, especially after downloading the english instruction manual from the manufacturer. Ignition timing is set by means of the LED, and it worked first time. Ignition is very powerful. The only problem i have encountered so far is the two pick-up sensors. They are soldered to the print and supported by two tiny plastic pillars. These pillars are glued with a non heat resistant glue, so they came off the first set after some driving. I glued them back on with epoxy glue. This is a minor problem. It is a huge advantage to have electronic ignition thus efficiently eliminating the hellish task of setting timing on machine with two contact sets on two anchor plates.

Great Electronic Ignition System for Honda SOHC 4

reviewer: David Kay

(5 Stars) - Friday, September 07, 2007
Although the price was maybe higher than some of the other systems out there, I'm glad I bought this. It is a self contained unit - no little box to mount on your bike. Simply remove the poins plate & point cam and install the magnet and new plate with all the system on it. There is even an LED to make sure the timing is spot-on. Put the engine at the 'F' mark for cylinder 1 & turn the plate until the LED comes on - Tighten the screws & go for a ride.

My bike does run smoother now because all the cylinders are guarenteed to have acurate timing. Starts easy and because it uses the original advance mechanism, performance is not affected.
A great product

very good, price and instalation, only a little remark, the shaft was not putting the ingnition to his F point. I cut a bit of the little point who is going into the sleeve of the original advancer. now its waiting for the live time.

ELETCTRONIC IGNITION

reviewer: Luciano Martelli

I have ordered another two so that means that they are ok. Please note: it must be set very carefully and perfectly but a person with some experience shouldn't have any problem.
Bye

Out of order -ignition

reviewer: Yrjo Ella

(1 Stars) - Monday, May 19, 2008
Big disappointment! Another circuit (cylinders 2 and 3) didn't fire at all and when I changed back the old igniton plate - no problem with ignition. I tried to return it but CMS has a tight policy to it: "CMS is unable to accept returns on many electrical parts. Please contact us before returning electrical items. Electrical parts may solely be returned as per our 7 day return period, provided these parts are in the un-opened, original packing, and never have been installed. In light of the above, we cannot replace the unit nor provide a refund." You can't know do the electronical devices work or not by just look at un-opened packages! So I will not buy electronical parts from CMS in the future.

Electronic Ignition

It's a good piece an works well. The installation is quite tricky because it's all electronic and you have to adjust it in a very special way. I found a Description of the product an also how you have to install the electronic ignition. Unfortunately I lost the Internet adress, but I can make a fax if necessary.

Electronic Ignition

reviewer: William Grahame

(5 Stars) - Thursday, November 04, 2010
The unit works great once it was successfully installed. The unit I received had blue and yellow wires reversed so I had to connect blue to yellow and yellow to blue to make it work. Resultant timing light checks were extremely stable - no bouncing like with points. Also the static timing setting did not change with the engine running so the user can set the timing correctly without the use of a timing light.
