Whilst rebuilding or overhauling the cylinder head renewing the valve springs is standard procedure, the old ones may look O.K, but they could have lost as much as 50% of there resilience! This could lead to valve float, and of course damage to both valves and piston. This really is a case of better safe than sorry.

Helps stop valve float and associated damage.
