Kawasaki has updated its ZZ-R1400 for 2008 claiming reduced emissions and significant increase in mid-range power.
Kawasaki has updated its ZZ-R1400 for 2008. The Japanese bike builder is claiming most of the modifications have been made to reduce emissions, but the subtle changes to pistons, intake ports and fuelling have influenced the main improvement; a significant increase in mid-range power.
The current model, despite its engine size needs to be revved quite hard to give its best. Regular gearchanges are a must to maintain good throttle response, and then when the tacho needle gets to 5000rpm the rush of power makes the bike feel more like a missile. The nothing much / then everything, style of power delivery makes the ZZ-R more of a handful than it should be.
