Kawasaki ZL1000 information
Big brother of the ZL600, the ZL1000 with the same advanced layout of four valves per cylinder DOHC engine gave very impressive performance, embarrassing many lower order sports machines with it’s 110bhp @ 9000 rpm and six speed gear-box.
Made for only one year stretching from 1987 through to 1988 total worldwide production was only 2500 units. With a standing quarter time of just 11.3 seconds this custom cruiser was a great street drag bike, and with a shaft drive, was low maintenance as well. These rare motorcycles have achieved cult status, and smoking rear tyres can be viewed on many ‘You Tube’ down loads!
