Kawasaki KZ305 information
Entry level cruiser when launched in 1981. The SOHC twin cylinder engine was adequate and par for the course for small cruisers of the period.
The six speed box was required due to the power being delivered at unusually high revs for this type of motorcycle that shared it’s engine with the GPZ305 sports model.
Typical high Kawasaki build quality ensured a good service life, although the high revving engines could suffer if frequent oil changes were not carried out, and also particularly if revved high before engine had warmed up, this causing damage to valve train and cam bearings.
If you get a good one, it will be very good…………. Well you know where we are going with this!
