Honda SA50 50 SR 1995 (S) USA information

The SA50 Elite was fitted with a two-stroke 3.8hp @ 6000rpm engine with both electric and kick starting. Transmission was V-matic variable ratio with an automatic clutch and the early model weighed 65.5kg. First introduced in 1987 the model ran through to 2001.The model although generally referred to as the Elite was also called the ‘Vision 50’ in some markets. In Europe the scooter was sold under the ‘Moped’ licensing law, and as such had a restricting plate that when removed, combined with a few other go-faster goodies could deliver an extra 10mph making these diminutive 50cc machines capable of close to 60mph or 100Kph! This ensured their popularity with younger riders.
