Honda CT200 TRAIL 1964 USA information

The bike that started a long run of ‘step through’ style trail bikes for the USA market. This the rarest and most desirable to collectors, the ‘iron engine’ overhead valve model, was an instant hit in the market for which it was made, and with strengthening down tubes and high placement air filter was a lot more useful than appearances might suggest. The extra large rear sprocket, whilst adversely affecting top speed, made this a surprisingly good choice for green lane and trail riding, the ultra low gearing more than compensating for the relatively low power output.

The single seat and luggage rack becoming the trade mark of all subsequent CT90 and CT110 models that wee to stay in production until the early 1990’s.
