First released and exclusive to the USA market in 1964 as the CT200, with the overhead valve iron engine, this concept of trail step through really took off, because they were both cheap to buy, completely reliable, and with an automatic clutch easy to ride. The model was modified in 1966, into the CT90KO model with the then new overhead camshaft motor, with an increase in power and revs. The K1 followed, now with the air-filter moved to the traditional position, in1969, running through to the K6 in 1975. The K was dropped for 1976, but the CT90 for the first time received stylish chrome springs on the rear shocks, the final model, and other than colour schemes basically unchanged was announced in 1979.
As these were pretty well used and abused by mostly novice riders with little mechanical sympathy, few of these survive today, and those lucky enough to own a god original example, have a classic Honda of high value, considering it’s humble provenance!
