Subject: CM250T - getting hold of parts - it should be easy????!!!!

Hi

I have bought a 1981 CM250 and whilst I am finding I can find most stuff I need on Ebay I am having trouble getting hold of a replacement front caliper and master cylinder.

Its the same as what they fitted to the CB250 Super dream I believe. I don't think all the CM models originally had a front disk brake (this must be an upgrade???).

There is an abundance of people breaking CB250 but every one I contact they all say more or less the first thing that gets sold is the master cylinder and caliper.

Anybody on here able to direct me to a good parts place I can get hold of this stuff.

I also need to do something with the seat. The cover is good (but probably would not come off in one piece). The sponge base is also good. However the metal base is more or less none existent due to the old tinworm.

I am looking to see if I can do something as far as repairing the seat but I really need a good base. I've seen a few bases knocking around from CD200 Benly's and they look fairly similar can anybody confirm if this is the case as I've had no joy tracking down a CM seat.

Cheers

John

Hi John,

In my experience, getting parts for bikes more than 25 years is in general NOT easy. Especially when it concerns model-specific parts that are no longer manufactured. That might be the case with the items you are looking for.

Now the internet is a great medium for finding parts. Really. To me, it appears that the most efficient way to find parts, is by searching partnumbers. If you somehow can obtain the partnumber, then simply search for it in google! emoticon

Let me know if that worked for you!
