Subject: 1982 CB450A electrical question

Hi,

I was driving down the road yesterday and all my electrical stuff stopped working. Indicator lights, signals, headlight, horn, starter, everything. The engine starts fine with the kickstart, the battery is new with tight connections. I can find 3 fuses in a fusebox, a main 15A and two 7A. All are OK. I have no idea what else to look for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Solved it. A wire had pulled out of the ignition switch. I soldered it back in, turned the key and everything came on again. All the other wires seemed solid, no idea why that one came out. Corrosion, maybe though I didn't see any.

btw, if the model seems odd it's because I had it wrong. It's actually a CM450A.

Hi Lloyd,

well, good that you resolved the wiring problem.
It might occur every once in a while that wires detaches. I once experienced that after a bumpy ride, my bike stuttered; also a wire that came lose. emoticon

Anyway,
good luck with the cM 450 emoticon
