I am rebuilding a 1981 CB650 Custom, and I am using my Clymer's manual as a guide. It says in the book to be very careful not to lose the O ring. When I removed the accelerator pump, very carefully I might add, I see NO sign of any O ring. The only thing I found was the accordian style rubber boot.
Has anyone run into this? Is it possible that the O ring is for another make/model? I have searched on various parts fiche sites, and found no indication of any O ring.
I hate to put it all back together and find that the pump does not operate correctly. I suppose it is possible that the previous owner/s may have lost it, but I would like to be sure. I can buy a NOS pump, but they are absurdly expensive, about $70.00 USD.
