I've recently purchased this 1979 CB750F SuperSport. I noticed the front turn signals on either side of the headlight are always on, and blink bright for the turn signal. The rear turn signals, though, are off, but blink for the turn signal.

Are the rear signal lights supposed to be alway on like the front signals, or do they remain off until the signal is activated? I need to know if I should start tracking down a wiring problem of not... emoticon

The fact that your front lights are always on, is American. This system provides 'running lights' when driving. When you indicate, mostly they would go off and on again, as opposed to EU style which first go on, and then off again.
This is wired through your headlight, and the indicator lights have a so called run - turn function. (Dutch = duplo-function)

The fact that the rear has not got this function, is probably because either the indicator lights were replaced with single function ones, or the wiring has been separated, and re-wired from the indicator relay to the lights directly instead of through the main harness. This is not a problem, since the less wires run to the main harness, the better.

No worries, unless your bulbs start failing, in which case something else is the matter.

Three wire setup in front...Two wire setup in back. Nothing is wrong with it. That is a factory setup.
