The exhaust (muffler) on the bike depicted in the picture for this site, crickey moses, is it a mega-phone(loud hailer), it must be three times the requirement at the end of the bell/can, surely that cannot be road legal.

any one any thoughts ? fast eddy you reading this ?   reply to this

Thats two mufflers you are looking at there and if they are original (looks like it to me) they will be as quiet as!

Hi Coops,

I have been trawling various sites looking for exhausts for my CBC 900 Custom, finally found "Marshalls" who do a replacement 4 into 1 road legal for 160 GBP ish (deep tone),

the only other examples I have are from the haynes manual CB 750 & 900 dohc 1978-1984 UK version, which has a 2 into 2 with link at 2 and 3,

and the old man honda site, which has a colour picture of the marque, which appears to be a 4 into 1. can only see one side though.

I have two part systems, one of each variant, niether are compatable with each other, one the downpipes are holed (rusted away) just before the collector box. and the other has a downpipe missing, so just waiting till pay day to get the Marshalls pipes

Hi Bhwanna,

I would say the two into two system is most likely the original. I have a dealer catalogue from 1981 and the CB750C Type ED, is almost identical (left side view) to your 900.
Unless you are looking for scrupulous originality, the four into one from Marshalls should be a good replacement with a possibility of a performance increase(may need to jet up one)and if nothing else, very pleasing to the ear.

cheers

Coops

P.S. The old man Honda site??? - not from these parts!
