The original Black Bomber’ evolved through to the K7 model, and was then replaced by the CB500T in 1975. This was the final incarnation, and although fast, but no faster than the 450, the model never sold in great numbers or achieved much popularity, why? Because of Honda’s CB500 four and CB550 Four. Why buy a twin when you can have a four was the reasoning, and it was a mystery why Honda continued to produced this model at all! It was discontinued after just one year.
These are the bargains in the World of classic Honda’s, but don’t expect to make a killing if you restore one, but instead enjoy that smooth and punchy power that a large capacity 180 degree twin can deliver, and that engine will always be a thing of beauty!
